Syrup to water the cake:

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2 cups of water
  • Half of the lemon juice

The Batter:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 3 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 and a half cups of all-purpose flour(180g)
  • 1 cup of Fine semolina (150g)
  • 1 cup of poppy seeds
  • 1 tbsp of yeast(7g)

Whipping cream to decorate your cake:

  • 2 cans of Chantilly whipping cream
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla for taste


How to make Syrup:

  • Firstly, in a large saucepan, bring all together 2 cups of water, 2 cups of sugar, and the juice of half a lemon to a boil for nearly 10 min until the sugar thaw. Then, set aside

How to make the batter:

  • In a large bowl, we put the eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Then, we mix them with a hand mixer or you could use a whisk attachment until the combination multiplies.
  • Then, we keep mixing it and gradually we add all the other ingredients concerning the batter: oil, milk, white flour with yeast, fine semolina, and poppy seeds, and we keep mixing them until well combined.
  • When our batter is ready to be baked, we pour the batter into a baking pan that is already spread with butter or oil.
  • In a preheated oven, 180 degrees. We put the baking pan on for almost 25/30 min.
