Here is The Best Cinnamon Raisin Bread to make at home.
Cinnamon raisin bread is a type of sweet bread that is infused with the warm, spicy flavor of cinnamon and studded with plump, juicy raisins. It is typically made from a dough consisting of flour, yeast, sugar, cinnamon, salt, butter or oil, and water or milk. The dough is kneaded, allowed to rise, and then rolled out into a rectangular shape.
The raisins are then spread over the surface of the dough and rolled up into a tight spiral. The bread is then allowed to rise again, baked until golden brown, and brushed with butter or a cinnamon sugar glaze. The end result is a moist and flavorful bread with a soft, tender crumb and bursts of sweetness from the raisins.
It is often enjoyed for breakfast, as a snack, or as a dessert, and can be toasted and topped with butter, cream cheese, or jam for added indulgence. So, just give it a try and enjoy the taste!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp of active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup of warm milk (110-115°F)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup of raisins
For the cinnamon sugar filling:
- 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 tsp of ground cinnamon
For the egg wash:
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp of water
Instructions:

- Firstly, in a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, warm milk, and egg.
- Then, add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about an hour, until it has doubled in size. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a large rectangle on a floured surface.
- In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the filling.
- Then, spread the cinnamon sugar mixture over the surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle the raisins evenly over the cinnamon sugar mixture. And roll the dough up tightly, starting from the long end.
- Pinch the seams together and tuck the ends under.
- Then, place the dough seam-side down into a greased loaf pan. And cover the loaf with a towel and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water for the egg wash. Then, brush the egg wash over the top of the loaf.
- Bake the bread for 40-45 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Finally, let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
